In a conference room in Guardian Hall, General Bardak, Mindy Marvel. Ryu, and Cynthis were having a meeting to discuss recent events. “So have you finish analyzed the data from my ship?” Bardak asked Cynthis.

“Indeed I have,” the android replied. “There were energy spikes coming from the Legolaian ship consistent with that of a teleporter.”

“So can you tell if the Occupant was teleported with them?” Bardak inquired.

“I am afraid I cannot,” was Cynthis’ response. “Although your craft recorded a fair amount of data, it still was not enough to determine that.”

Bardak turned to Ryu. “Did you detect anything with your powers?”

“I didn’t,” the dragon in human form said. “At the time the incident was happening, I was securing the cyborg, and so wasn’t able to focus on him. Of course, I didn’t sense anything from him to begin with. I assume that his mental powers are even greater than mine and he could block his thoughts from me.”

“Hmm,” the General mused before turning to Mindy. “What do you think?”

“We got a couple hundred gang members off the streets,” the deputy leader of the Guardians replied. “And from what I hear, the Occupant was vaporized. I don’t think we’re going to see him again, and we should mark his file closed.”

Bardak contemplated the statement and then said, “I would like to do nothing else. There are so many evildoers in this city who avoid punishment. I like to think that in this case, one of them did.” Then he shook his head. “But there is too much ambiguousness to the whole situation, and I don’t think we have enough evidence to pronounce the Occupant deceased. Mark his file as inactive, and we’ll review again in due time.”

It was just after midnight when Polygirl got off the elevator on the third floor of Guardians Hall and took a deep breath. She was nervous about what she was about to do, and yet she was still determined to do it. She had never had sex before, partially due to her being too busy with studying and then work, and partially because she always hoped that her first time would be with a special man. And she had finally decided that Gordon was that man.

She made her way through the darkened communal living room towards the living quarters. Going to the door of Gordon’s room, she bit her lip and then lifted her hand to knock on the door. However, before she could, she heard a whimpering coming from within. Concerned, she eased the door open and looked inside.

In the dim light, she saw Gordon curled up in his bed, weeping quietly with his arms wrapped tightly around himself. She watched him for a minute and then said, “Gordon?”

‘YYAAHHH!” he screamed as he woke up. He looked around wide eyed and then realized who it was. “Poly?” he asked groggily as he rubbed his eyes. “What are you doing here?”

“I …, “ she begin, then changed her mind about what to say. “I was going to see Aria and heard you. What’s wrong?”

He sat up on the side of his bed and looked away from her. “It’s nothing.”

“Don’t give me that,” she replied as she walked over to him and took his hands. “I can tell there is something that’s upsetting you and I want to know what it is.”

Gordon looked up into her eyes. Just her being here made him feel more secure, and so he began to explain. “It’s everything that that demon, Onyx, put me through. I was so helpless, in ways I had never thought possible. I think …’” He paused a moment before continuing. “I think it’s always going to be a part of me.”

Poly considered his words and realized that while Gordon had seemed fine, his experiences had affected him to the core. And considering what had been done to him, sex would be the last thing he would want. She also realized that he shouldn’t be alone. “Lay down and move over,” she said as she took off her tool belt.

“What?” Gordon said, his eyes widening with shock. “Um, Poly, I love you and all, but I don’t really think I want to …,” he said nervously.

“That’s not what I mean, silly,” she replied as she split off a duplicate. Gordon was apprehensive, but he trusted Poly and did as she told him to. One of her got climbed in on each side of him and they wrapped their arms around him. He was ridged at first, but secure in the embrace of the two Polygirls, he began to relax and fell into a peaceful sleep. As he did, Poly smiled and said quietly, “You don’t always have to be the strong one.”

At a dockside warehouse, numerous members of the Canadian Syndicate were gathered. The warehouse was owned by the Syndicate and was designated as an emergency headquarters. Several members of the group were meeting there, including Powerwhine and Rockchewer. “So have you heard anything new?” the sonic powered woman asked the muscular man.

Rockchewer shook his head. “No. Mikey’s been arrested along with everyone else who were at the hotel. How about you? Heard anything from the Occupant?”

It was Powerwhine’s turn to shake her head. “No one had heard from him since the attack. People are saying he’s dead, and I haven’t seen or heard anything to prove that’s false. And without him, I guess the Canadian Syndicate is dead.”

“OH, I wouldn’t say that,” came a rasping voice from the rafters. Everyone looked up to see a figure moving around up there. “There are still all of you. And of course,” it continued as it came to a support piller. It wrapped it’s limbs around it and slid down, coming to a sudden stop at the bottom. It stood up and turned around rapidly, revealing itself to be the World’s Wickedest Weed. “There’s still me.”

It walked over to the gang members and said, “Now, as far as I know, the Occupant is dead. But I will not let what he worked so hard to build be just tossed away, oh no no no. There is still much fun to be had here.

“Of course, there are going a few changes made,” the Weed continued as it walked around with all eyes upon it. “I’m only interested in continuing the drug related aspects of the business. Oh, and the unlicensed superhero merchandise. That is ever so entertaining. The protection rackets and the other stuff, well, I guess we can give control of those to Nekro. For now, though, there are some things I want done. First, we’re calling off the hit against Raging Bull. I don’t have a problem with what he did. In fact, I found it quite amusing. Second, find some way to contact Hauppman. I see no reason to continue the war, so hopefully we can work something out. And I have something she may be interested in. Finally, we will have to shelf the planned campaign against Sahlia, although I do plan on give her what she deserves. OH yesss.”

As Powerwhine and Rockchewer traded uneasy glances, the Weed wrung it’s leafy hands in glee and said, “Oh, I promise all of you, this will be so much fun. Heh heh heh.”
